We are pleased to announce that Professor Izabela Grabowska from the University of Warsaw will deliver a two-hour masterclass to PhD students and early career researchers entitled, “Interdisciplinary approach to complex policy issues: A case of migration-development nexus” on the afternoon of Thursday 19th April 2018.
The masterclass will provide a valuable opportunity for PhD students and early career researchers working on migration research to learn about interdisciplinary approaches to complex policy issues with a leading migration scholar. This masterclass will be especially beneficial to those working on any aspect of migration and/ or development issues.
The masterclass is part of the ‘Modern Poland’ project, which is a collaboration between leading scholars from the Migration Research Group at the University of Sheffield and the Centre for Migration Research at the University of Warsaw. This project is funded by the Noble Foundation’s Programme on Modern Poland (pomp.com.pl/en/). It runs from October 2017 to September 2019.
Objectives of the Master Class:
(1) To use the theme of migration and development to showcase the interdisciplinary and complex policy areas;
(2) To link migration with wider social issues;
(3) To learn how to form interdisciplinary and mixed-method approaches to policy challenges, including collaborations both on the science and the policy sides, as well as across this divide;
